Composite Materials
Andrey Ushakov is a specialist in the field of composite materials and fiberglass
reinforced plastic products working in the fields of science and technology in the
Russian region. He is one of the country’s leading scientists in the area of
durability and service life of engineering structures, and heads a host of
activities that help to ensure the reliability and safety of high-performance
structures for transport systems. Prof. Ushakov has contributed to defining the
implementation of structural materials into various branches of engineering, and is
the author of over 150 works. He has 30 inventions to his credit that are patented in
the Russian Federation. Prof. Ushakov is engaged in various positions with the ApATeCh
Co. Ltd. group of companies. He is also the Deputy General Director of the National
Institute of Aviation Technologies, and a member of the Russian Quality Academy and
the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
